The picturesque North-Eastern Free State town of Villiers is situated on the banks of the Vaal River, just 120km from Johannesburg (alongside the N3 towards Durban) and 70km from Vereeniging (passing the Vaal Dam). Villiers is considered to be one of the most appealing towns in the Northern Free State and is a multiple winner of the Administrators Floating Trophy for its many beautiful gardens.

This is country tranquility at it best, with a town area of only 2.1km by 1.5km, no traffic lights, only 3 tar roads and a small, but friendly community of about 2000 residents.

Farming is the main source of income, with corn and cattle found in abundance on the sprawling farmlands, surrounding the town.

Crime is almost non-existent under the watchful eyes of the vigilant local SAPS and Neighbourhood Watch. With the community being so small and everybody knowing who belongs where, kids and teenagers have the freedom to safely walk around in the town and few residents lock their homes and cars during the day.

The area enjoys moderate Summer temperatures (about 15°C to 32°C), while Winters are relatively cold (about 1°C to 17°C), though sunny during the day.

Villiers is a paradise for birdwatchers, hikers and fishermen and provides the ideal location for a weekend-getaway from the bustling Gauteng and Vaal-Triangle.
